Helen Cassou, FNP-BC

Prior to Helen’s career in healthcare, she earned her Associate in Applied Science in Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety from Nunez Community College in 2002.  She worked as an Environmental/Occupation Health and Safety consultant for a small family owned EOHS company in Louisiana.  After a few years, she decided to further her education by pursuing a degree in healthcare.

Helen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Louisiana State University in 2009. She worked as an Emergency/Trauma nurse. She later received her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program at Georgetown University in 2015. She is nationally board certified as an FNP through ANCC.

Prior to moving to Maine, Helen worked at several hospitals in the US as a Pulmonary/Sleep Medicine Nurse Practitioner. She moved to Maine in early 2018 to assist with the opening of the Sleep Clinic at MaineGeneral Medical center. During late 2020, she played an integral role with opening the WalkIn Clinic at WCMP in Belfast, Maine. She continues to work in a per diem capacity at WCMP Primary WalkIn Care.

Helen was born in New Orleans, Louisiana but raised in various cities/countries around the world as she was a military dependent. She has a tremendous love for Maine and the community and decided to settle down and call Belfast her forever home. She has many hobbies such as hiking, baking, gardening to name a few. She mostly enjoys spending quality time with her family.
